A simple guide to understanding your NDIS plan, how funding is managed and the questions participants often ask when arranging support.
The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) provides funding to eligible Australians under 65 with a permanent and significant disability. Funds are used to access the supports and services that help participants live the life they want, at home, in the community, and at work.
Plans are individual: built around the participant's goals, not a one-size-fits-all package. You decide which providers to engage and how to spend the funded supports, within the categories and amounts agreed with the NDIA.
Hawa Health Care is a registered NDIS provider delivering core supports across Western Sydney. We work with self-, plan-, and NDIA-managed participants every week.
Each option has trade-offs around flexibility, paperwork and provider choice. Mix-and-match is also possible across plan categories.
Option 1
You manage the funds yourself. Most flexibility and choice of providers, including providers that aren't NDIS-registered.
Option 2
A registered plan manager pays providers on your behalf. You keep choice across registered and non-registered providers.
Option 3
The NDIA pays your providers directly. You can only use NDIS-registered providers, Hawa Health Care included.
If your question isn't answered here, ask away and we'll write back the same day.
You may be eligible for the NDIS if you are under 65, live in Australia, and are an Australian citizen, permanent resident or Protected Special Category Visa holder. You must also have a permanent disability that substantially affects your ability to complete everyday activities.
Eligibility depends on your individual circumstances, so it is important to check the full criteria through the NDIS. Hawa Health Care can help explain the process and guide you through the next steps if you are unsure where to begin.
